Add NIS to an Active Directory Network

Download Services for Unix from MSFT web site

Install Services for Unix and its Server for NIS module onto an AD Domain Controller, this will make this computer
the NIS Master

Name the NIS domain after the AD domain (for easy human understanding)

Point to IP address of what will become the NIS Slave server

Install the NIS package of ypbind and ypserv onto a Linux box. This will make the box a NIS Slave. Point it to the
NIS Master.

Install the ypclient package onto the boxes that will be NIS clients, pointing to the NIS Slave IP address
